Define the instrument, the scope and the responsibilities
Purchasing & Delivery
A useful instrument quotation is more than a model name and a price. It should identify the proposed configuration, what is included and the arrangements needed to put the instrument into use.
Use the following points to prepare a discussion with JIEBO. The arrangements for your project need to be confirmed in the relevant proposal and agreed order documents.
Step 1
Describe the Testing Requirement
Start with the material, target elements, required ranges, sample form and intended use. Tell us whether this is a new testing capability, an additional instrument, a replacement or a change to an existing requirement.
You may begin without a final model, budget or complete purchasing schedule. The technical and commercial details can be clarified as the discussion progresses.
Step 2
Review the Proposed Configuration
Confirm the model and the specification version being considered. Identify any applicable calibration curves, language configuration and compatible accessories, including items needed for sample preparation or installation.
A brochure describes a product; the proposal needs to describe the configuration being offered for your task.
Step 3
Compare the Full Quotation Scope
When reviewing quotations, check which of the following apply and whether each item is included, separately priced or still to be confirmed.
- Instrument and quantityThe exact model and configuration under consideration.
- Calibration and software-related itemsThe applicable curves, language setup and any specifically agreed functions or options.
- Accessories and sample-related equipmentWhich items are compatible, necessary for the agreed task and included in the proposal.
- Installation and trainingThe planned method, responsible parties and scope.
- Transport and site arrangementsThe agreed delivery scope and the responsibilities relevant to the destination.
- Travel or on-site workWhether applicable charges are included or require separate agreement.
- Warranty and subsequent serviceThe written scope, applicable conditions and any separately charged work.
The presence of an item in this checklist does not mean that it is supplied as standard or included without charge.
Step 4
Confirm the Order Documents
Before placing an order, align the technical requirement, configuration, quantity and commercial arrangements. Payment terms, delivery timing, installation method and any acceptance requirements should be clear to the parties involved.
When a requirement changes, ask for the affected configuration, cost or schedule to be reviewed and documented. Do not rely on different people working from different versions of the proposal.
Step 5
Clarify Checks and Readiness for Dispatch
Discuss which inspection information or other documents are applicable to the agreed instrument and what needs to be complete before dispatch.
A manufacturing or dispatch date should be confirmed for the actual order. It should not be inferred from a general statement on a website.
Step 6
Prepare for Delivery and Installation
Confirm the delivery destination, receiving arrangements and installation method. Review any model-specific site, utility, sample preparation or accessory requirements that apply before the instrument arrives.
For an overseas project, the arrangement may involve remote assistance, a participating distributor or a JIEBO engineer. The available method, responsibilities and costs need to be confirmed for the particular project.
Step 7
Agree How Installation and Acceptance Will Be Confirmed
Shipment, arrival, installation and customer acceptance are different events. Establish who will coordinate the work, what conditions will be checked and how completion will be recorded.
Where the project has a specific technical or acceptance requirement, raise it during the technical discussion rather than after delivery.
Step 8
Keep the Right Context for Ongoing Support
Keep the model, agreed configuration and relevant order or installation information available for future support discussions. For repair, accessories or an upgrade request, identify the instrument and explain what has changed or what help is needed.
FAQ
Questions Before Requesting a Quote
Can I ask for a quotation before choosing a model?
You can start a discussion without a model. A meaningful formal quotation still needs enough application and configuration information to define what is being offered.
Are installation, training and travel included?
Do not assume they are included or excluded. Their scope and charges should be confirmed for the proposal and delivery arrangement.
Is there a standard lead time or warranty for every order?
This page does not set a universal lead time or warranty period. Ask for the applicable written terms for the actual instrument, configuration and project.
Start with the Scope You Need
Tell us what you want to measure and which purchasing details you already know. Include an intended model or quantity where available.
